An open debate with just a short introduction and only very short presentations to allow a discussion with the audience on what we can learn from The Race to Zero, enhance from zero harm on people and climate to an inclusive and equitable nature positive agenda.

The race to zero “carbon emission” is on and is getting a lot traction and interest from many large corporates as well as many other organizations including countries. Nigel Topping, one of the High-Level Climate Change Champion for Climate Action, will share with representatives of the conservation and business communities how the RTZ is currently managing the risks and opportunities for nature and what can be strengthen in the future. Additional input on how the risks and opportunities to nature conservation associated to climate change mitigation measures can be effectively managed will be provided by Chris Buss, IUCN; Brune Poirson, ACCOR; Dimitri Caudrelier, Quantis. Following an introduction by Gerard Bos, Director, Global Business and Biodiversity Programme, the session will be structured around questions to the panellists. The audience is welcome to come with their own questions!
