The IUCN Green List Exchange: solutions and innovations from around the world in how to achieve fair and effective conservation in and around protected and conserved areas

This session brings voices and visual stories of fair and effective nature conservation from around the world. The IUCN Green List is a common theme, and the Green List Exchange will be presented as a way to share innovations and solutions. A new digital investment opportunity will be shared along with new ideas for Green List finance mechanism.

The session will showcase many countries' stories of how they are committing to fair and effective nature conservation through commitments to the IUCN Green List Standard for protected and conserved areas (see www.iucngreenlist.org). These countries include Mexico, Colombia, Lebanon, Rwanda, Madagascar, Saudi Arabia and Mongolia, among others. The project collaboration with Porini Foundation and local partners on three continents will be showcased, including the launch of a new zero-carbon blockchain financing mechanism for local conservation action.
