Advancing the Outcomes of the World Summit on Indigenous Peoples and Nature

Why attend
Indigenous peoples organizations will hold a Summit prior to the Congress to highlight their contributions to nature conservation and commitments needed to sustain indigenous lands and cultures. This session provides an opportunity to learn the outcomes of this meeting and actively engage in promoting and supporting their realization.
HideDescription
The World Summit on Indigenous Peoples and Nature will unite voices to raise awareness that special measures are required to protect the rights of the world's indigenous peoples. It is a forum for highlighting and learning about the contributions of indigenous peoples to the management of ecosystems, climate change resilience and sustainable development, and for finding sustainable commitments that benefit the planet and its inhabitants. During this thematic session, indigenous leaders and organizers of the Indigenous Peoples and Nature summit will present highlights and outcomes of the meeting to participants in the WCC Forum. In addition to sharing information, this session will provide an opportunity for participants to offer their own pledges and contributions to support the actions identified by indigenous peoples to sustain their lands, territories and resources into the future and transfer the knowledge and values to future generations.
