Climate change and biodiversity interlinkages: From science-policy assessments to action

Why attend
This thematic stream session will provide an opportunity for the world’s leading experts from key organisations such as IUCN, IPBES and IPCC to share their insights on climate change and biodiversity interlinkages, and to engage in an interactive dialogue with practitioners, policymakers, young professionals and the general public.
HideDescription
Presenters will focus on the state of the art knowledge about climate-biodiversity linkages (including findings of the recent IPBES-IPCC workshop report, the IPBES Global assessments and other IPCC reports), what the subsequent impact of these reports has been on the public and policymakers, and what future follow-up steps are needed to put recommendations into action. As an outcome of the session, the participants will be more knowledgeable about these important interlinkages and on how potential synergies might be realised for ensuring better conservation and climate outcomes on the ground, as well as how policymakers and advocates for nature can use these reports and put them into concrete practice.
