Dr Linda NEAVES

Research Fellow, Australian National University

My research uses genomic tools to address a range of issues in species and ecosystem management and restoration, including trophic interactions, species genetic diversity and structure. I am also focussed on the engagement with practitioners and other sectors of conservation to enhance the integration of scientific data into management strategies and policy to improve conservation outcomes.  In addition to my research I have been involved in the development of several policy documents including the 'The Scottish Code for Conservation Translocations' which integrated biological, legislative and socio-economic impacts into the planning of translocations. I have worked in Australia, the United Kingdom and China, but have been involved in many large international collaborations. In my current role I try to bring together all my experiences to develop effective management tools and train the next generation of conservationists.
