Franco LORENA
Deputy director, Fundación Natura
I have worked for two and a half years at Fundación Natura, Colombia-, a non-profit civil society environmental organization created in 1983 to conserve our natural heritage and its ecological functions and the well-being of the local communities who depend on them. My background is in biological sciences, and I have an MSc in Biology (environmental conservation). As Deputy Director, I promote the means to solve challenges for people and biodiversity that live and depend on each other to their well-being and integrity. Our slogan, "To transform society's bond with nature towards more sustainable ways of living", is reflected in every aspect of our endeavour. At the IUCN Congress, I represent the "Amazonas 2.0" project's team, an initiative funded by the EU to enhance governance of IPCL in the Amazon Region of 6 countries of the basin.
