Dr Camila DONATTI

Director, Climate adaptation, Conservation International

I am an ecologist with a 23-year career in conservation, focused on identifying, implementing and evaluating nature conservation and restoration actions to address societal challenges and improve biodiversity. I have published 32 peer-reviewed publications on the topics of nature conservation and interactions between people and nature. I was born and raised in Brazil, where I did my undergraduate and  my master's degrees in Ecology. I moved to the USA in 2006 to pursue my doctor degree in Biology at Stanford University, studying plant-animal interactions in the Brazilian Pantanal. I have been working at Conservation International since 2011, leading our adaptation program and designing, implementing and monitoring nature-based solutions for adaptation in the Tropics. I am also an adjunct faculty at Northern Arizona University, in Flagstaff, AZ, where I live.
