Change makers: Driving the transformation of forest ecosystems through restoration

Pourquoi assister à cette session?
Meet the people behind the Bonn Challenge – the world’s largest and most successful restoration target – that has, since its launch by IUCN and Germany in 2011, already resulted in 170 mil ha of pledges, many millions of hectares under restoration and quantified benefits for biodiversity, climate and jobs.
HideDescription
Leadership on restoration has many faces. Around the world, women, men and young people are in different ways getting trees into the ground and restoring the health and productivity of degraded and deforested landscapes. Their efforts are helping to protect threatened species and habitats, improving food security, and increasing the resilience of communities to climate change, among many benefits. Engage with these change makers during our interactive session that will feature TED-style flash talks and moderated discussion following feedback from the audience. Presenters include young professional Natia Tskhovrebadze from the Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection, Garo Batmanian from the World Band, and other international leaders from government, research, and non-government organizations.
