An alliance of more than 30 indigenous nations and their allies are working to permanently protect 86 million acres of highly biodiverse rainforest in the headwaters of the Amazon in Ecuador and Peru. This Amazon proposal e is a concrete case with a triple win : mitigation, economic dynamization, and local resilience.

Inspired by indigenous peoples’ forest stewardship visions and practices, the alliance is unveiling their BIOREGIONAL PLAN 2030 which proposes realistic and viable solution pathways to the economic and social crisis facing the region and invites support from the global community. The plan envisions a just transition by 2030 where the people and forests of this bioregion are flourishing within a prosperous and inclusive well-being economy, and where the region is contributing to reversing global warming and protecting biodiversity and serving as an inspiring model for a just ecological transition for the World.
