Take-home messages from the Mediterranean finance day

Pourquoi assister à cette session?
The day’s programme will have offered a rich array of lessons and thoughts about new trends and opportunities for conservation funding in the Mediterranean. Recommendations will help design a roadmap for a future of sustainably funded conservation. This session recapitulates the learning, emerging initiatives and partnerships, and the way forward.
HideDescription
The sessions of the day will have shown that funding for conservation in the Mediterranean is advancing through a vast array of initiatives and innovative instruments; but also, that many threats and challenges for conservation remain, and that securing sustainable funding in the long term is indispensable but cannot be taken for granted. New alliances, renewed commitments, stronger accountability about existing and new financial responsibilities, greater efficiencies and entrepreneurship, multi-stakeholder involvement and commitments, are concepts aired in the sessions of the day, together with excellent examples of innovation, engagements and partnership approaches. In this final session, panellists will recapitulate on the results of the discussions and will help define a roadmap and a call to action for strengthening adequate nature conservation finance in the Mediterranean. Final recommendations and proposals from participants will be welcome.
