Restoration Implementation Showcase (ACTUAL TIME 15:15-16:15)

¿Por qué asistir a esta sesión?
Restoration is happening in many parts of the world. There are very good models that can be replicated and scaled up. Restoration has long been a priority for some major donors, notably BMU/IKI and the GEF, who have enabled these models to be implemented. What are the key success factors and challenges in implementation?
HideDescripción
The event brings high-level government officials from different regions across the world, who are leaders in the landscape restoration movement, to share perspectives and experiences on i) building leadership and political will, ii) raising enabling conditions through partnerships and cross-sectorial collaboration, and iii) integrating national agendas to make ecosystem restoration not only relevant but necessary to achieve country's developmental goals. This event will be opened by the German Environment State Secretary, Jochen Flasbarth, who is a leader of the global ecosystem restoration movement through the Bonn Challenge and support to key regions ready to put restoration into action. Following, a moderated discussion with Ministers and high-level government representatives will follow. It is expected to hear from leaders and decision makers not only about their experiences so far but what is next to scale up ecosystem restoration as pressing global challenges make imperative.
