Consolidating Strengths within the Union | Highlights and lessons by the IUCN National Committee of the Netherlands

The IUCN National Committee of the Netherlands has a 40-year track-record in uniting IUCN members and supporting cooperation and joint strategy and action among them. In this session, IUCN NL Director Coenraad Krijger will share different highlights of such cooperative initiatives, and lessons drawn from these for future activities.

In recent years, IUCN NL has worked in various ways with members and has successfully attracted funding for cooperation within the Union. In total, >100 M€ was raised for a broad portfolio of activities that contributed to the IUCN Programme 2016-2020 while strengthening cooperation. All organs of IUCN have participated: members, Secretariat, Commissions, and National Committees. Join this session to learn about the highlights of IUCN constituents cooperating and what we can learn from this for future activities.
