François LEFEVRE

Scientist, INRAE

Senior scientist in population biology and evolution, working in a multi-disciplinary research lab on Mediterranean forest ecology at INRAE (France), I am also president of the French commission on forest genetic resources (CRGF) and member of the steering committee of the European forest genetic resources programme (EUFORGEN). My personal expertise concerns the evolutionary processes in forest trees and the impacts of human practices on their genetic diversity. Developing trans-disciplinary approaches, i.e. integrating life sciences, human sciences and interactions with local actors, we propose resilient and adaptive strategies for the conservation and sustainable use of forest genetic resources in the context of global change. This also relates to the concept of Nature based Solutions.
