Dr Gretchen Marie WALTERS
Professor, University of Lausanne
I am an anthropologist and botanist and have worked in the US, Europe and tropical Africa for more than 20 years, 13 of which were in Central Africa. I seek to bridge gaps between the biological and social sciences and in connecting research, practice and policy. I have two strands of research 1) conservation practice: protected area landscapes, governance, historical-cultural approaches, commons; 2) understanding landscapes through an interdisciplinary lens of historical ecology.
