Podcasting : Pourquoi c'est important et ce qu'il peut faire pour raconter authentiquement votre histoire sur le climat et l'environnement

Pourquoi assister à cette session?
Podcasting is a powerful new tool in environment communications. I discuss how the spoken word coming from lived experience and embedded in immersive environmental sound recording, is a convincing tool for changing mindsets. Voices of unique individuals talking about what they do and how, reveals profound perspectives on global issues.
HideDescription
Podcasting is a new form that deeply engages audiences, especially younger generations. Personal storytelling of environmental action remains engaging and inspiring in a time of climate crisis when audiences weary of relentless facts and figures. As an internationally recognised audio journalist with 25 years’ experience I’ve innovated in digital citizen storytelling. In this presentation we walk through the online digital site 'The Rescue Project', listening to extracts from the resulting podcast series. I demonstrate how powerful individual stories of environmental action can poignantly describe bigger picture issues while keeping local voices and sounds of 'home ground' front and centre. This kind of storytelling can mobilise others to take their own action - both local and democratic. Podcasting their community's stories can validate and elevate that work, as well as help organisations expand their impact through multidisciplinary approaches.
